Gum Recession

Gum recession exposes the root of your teeth. This is usually caused by aggressive brushing of teeth, genetic, teeth alignment and other factors. The root exposure causes your teeth to be sensitive to hold and cold. The exposed layer of tooth is very sensitive and softer so if left untreated it can cause further damage.

Depending on your specific needs, your periodontist will perform one of three different types of gum tissue grafts.

• Connective tissue grafts
• Free gingival grafts
• Pedicle grafts.
